Wearing Japanese Style Dhoti Pants with simple top on a weekend get together with an old college friend.
I am quite a fussy dresser when it comes to fits and silhouettes. Case in point is dhoti pants...I have been looking for the right kinda dhoti pants for around 2 years now...but none came even close to my liking and I had really looked everywhere -FabIndia, Soma, The People Tree, Anokhi, Thrift shops...the list has been endless...
But finally, I found these beauties when i least expected them...at Anokhi on a shopping haunt to buy harem pants!!!
Top: Anokhi
Japanese Dhoti Pants: Anokhi
Bag: Etsy(Uzura)
PVC Flats: Bata
Watch: Titan
Bangles: Thrifted
Earrings: Etsy(Blonde Chic)
Shades: Rayban wayfarers
Shades: Rayban wayfarers
I am completely in love with these super comfy yet stylish dhoti pants!!!
And it was fun get together with my college friend reminiscing old times. Btw, If I look a bit run down in the pics, that's coz it's been terribly humid lately...with cloudy skies but no rains and on the particular day these pics were taken weekend, it was totally muggy weather!!!
Anyways, that's the way i wear my dhotis and im lovin it!!!!
P.S. I got another wonderful oppurtunity to write for The Other Home Blog, this time on monsoon travel in Rajasthan, check out the series here.

I'm very fussy about my clothes, too. I often imagine items I want and then find myself frustrated because they don't exist in real life :) It looks like your hunt for these dhoti pants was worth it, though- the colour is just beautiful!

Hi,
I could never accumulate confidence to flaunt myself in a dhobi pant. You inspired me to pick one soon. I am planning to carry a Jhola Bag as an accessory :-) I loved your
non-fussy stylish look......

Nice! It looks good in that outfit.Lovely photos.
like the photos too--esp the treatment in the first one
You're wearing them well! Great find!
I just used to wear dhotis at our family functions and sometime while relax at home.
You look very nice in this costume and it well suits you! Since dhotis pants are easily to wear and good at comfort, just like dhotis, our traditional costume. I too had a get together with my college friends last weekend at Kochi. Hope u had good time.
I love the colour of the pants!
What a pretty look! Great pants.
Thank you very much for visiting and reading my blog - thank you for the comment!
They look SO comfortable!
Love the pants!!
Looks very stylish on you .I have not worn dhoti pants since my college days (say about more than 21 yrs)and now i want to wear one after seeing your cool pictures.
u look horrible and u ve copied ur style of writing from "not so rich...." blog . such shameless copying !
@vanky - if you think i look horrible, i think you are entitled to your opinion and i really dont have a problem with that...it really doesnt bother me....
regarding your charge that i copy from tanvi's blog...well, i have been blogging since 2006(which is much before tanvi) and of all things you could blame me for..this is the most untrue.....!!!!
anyways..i cant change what you think....so hope you are happy after all the things u have said!!
Hey there...thanks for stopping by. Love the dhotis. I discovered them at Anokhi in July last year, and I absolutely love them. I have 2 pairs and am waiting for them to get more colours.
